it was sunday, the syrian couple who took refuge at the same hotel with me just came back from the church - as i was about to leave on another jet plane to united kingdom. they endured a long journey until finally accepted by generous, kind people of iceland for a stay. the lady's name is linda and the husband's name is nazeh, he was a geography teacher and has retired from school. despite my lack of arabic and sign language, he actually spoke english, even with limitation - we truly understand each other.
